putting push pins in them against a corkboard.\u00a0 I got that, but I didn\u2019t understand how it could be <em>beneficial<\/em> to spend time on it.<\/p>\n<p>I spoke with one of my colleagues who had started using it for her business, and I was inspired.\u00a0 I still didn\u2019t understand exactly how I was going to use it, but I wanted to explore how I could use it in my values-based business for highest impact.<\/p>\n<p>The more people I started following (intentionally of course) and connected with the <em>right<\/em> boards, the more I realized there were a ton of ways to use <strong>Pinterest<\/strong> to my advantage, not only to showcase my <em>own<\/em> interests, but the interests of my clients, potential clients, and people who were already using it.<\/p>\n<p>And a note here \u2013 you don\u2019t have to use <strong>Pinterest<\/strong> for \u201cbusiness\u201d, but if you have one, I <em>highly<\/em> recommend it.\u00a0 According to recent statistics, Pinterest is in the top 3 platforms for SEO (search engine optimization) and influence.\u00a0 <strong>Pinterest<\/strong> is where smart business owners go &amp; learn strategies to connect on a real level with their existing customers and potential clientele.\u00a0 You\u2019d be surprised how many people (and women, who typically make buying decisions) love beauty and even crave it because they aren\u2019t getting it where they live or in their surroundings.<\/p>\n<p><em>Need some of those strategies?<\/em>\u00a0 I\u2019ve got you covered.\u00a0 Here\u2019s 7 VERY creative ways you can start using <strong>Pinterest<\/strong> to connect with your customers on a personal level.\u00a0 And the best news is that you can mix your strategy \u2013 it\u2019s like an investment mix.\u00a0 You don\u2019t have to pin stuff that\u2019s strictly for your business.\u00a0 Mix a little \u201cyou\u201d in there too \u2013 that\u2019s who they want anyway \u2013 the product or service purchases will follow.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lorensworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/pinterest.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24767\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lorensworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/pinterest.jpg\" alt=\"pinterest-business\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>6 Very Creative Ways to Use Pinterest for Customer &amp; Personal Connection<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Tell A Story<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When you start a new Pinterest board, you\u2019ll notice that from the first pin, they stack on each other, starting at the bottom.\u00a0 Depending on what kind of device people view that board on will determine how you see them, but as a general rule, the first pins are at the bottom and most recent at the top.<\/p>\n<p>SO\u2026start a board with this strategy in mind and why not create some kind of story that builds on itself?\u00a0 You can even pin products you sell to do so.\u00a0 Start pinning, and with the first pin, start your story.\u00a0 With every pin to that specific board over time, you can develop a story that\u2019s compelling and makes you stand out from others who might be selling the same products.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Visually Connect Customers With A Service<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Recently, with the launch of my new signature program for introverted women, I started a \u201cvision\u201d board so-to-speak for that service on <strong>Pinterest<\/strong>.\u00a0 It connects women <em>visually<\/em> with the central themes presented in the experience when they work with me.\u00a0 In just a few short months, I\u2019ve gathered almost 300 followers to that one board already.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Visually Connect Customers with Identities, Traits, or Examples<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When someone opts in to receive my weekly personal notes, I give them the opportunity to take an expressions evaluation that shows them their top 2-3 forms of self-expression.\u00a0 Then, I provide them a PDF transcript and mini audio workshops for all 11 forms.\u00a0 Then \u2013 you guessed it \u2013 I direct them to the <strong>Pinterest<\/strong> board for their top 2-3 (I have boards for all 11 on my account).\u00a0 It allows them to <em>see<\/em> the expression in action and me to teach, which is what I love.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Share Your Own Products &amp; Inspirations<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Honestly, there are a lot of brands doing this really well.\u00a0 You can go to <strong>Pinterest<\/strong> and do a search for any of them.\u00a0 Great examples are Sid Dickens, Warby Parker, Jayson Home, Pottery Barn, West Elm, and Motives Cosmetics.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Find Incredibly Inspiring Quotes<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>One of my favorite pinners, Caitlin from Roost blog, pins some of the most inspiring, deep quotes I never knew existed.\u00a0 And she culminates them with the most beautiful photos that represent the ideas in those quotes.\u00a0 It\u2019s genius.\u00a0 She has over 49,000 followers.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Showcase \u201cBest Of\u201d Blog Posts<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have a website &amp;
