What It Means To \u2018Fake It Til You Make It\u2019<\/span><\/h2>\n

When you decide to try something new, it can be scary. Maybe you\u2019re getting ready to go on a job interview and you feel those butterflies start to welt up in your stomach. Maybe your not feeling confident enough to go on that first date since your last one was a mess.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s okay to feel nervous and worried, but it\u2019s also great to get passed those nerves and overcome those fears. One way we can do this is by faking it. One of my favorite actresses, Jessica Alba, was once said \u201cmy theory is, if you look confident you can pull off anything- even if you have no clue what you\u2019re doing.\u201d<\/p>\n

I love Jessica\u2019s advice because it\u2019s so true. Faking it \u2018til you make it is all about pretending to be confident. It\u2019s about pulling those shoulders back and smiling even when you\u2019re not feeling up to it. It\u2019s looking into your interviewers eyes and moving passed the shaky sound of your voice.<\/p>\n

Not everyone has all the answers all the time. Even some of the people I look up to for their confidence had to have started out feeling insecure about who they were. Those people stand as a reminder that you actually can \u201cfake it \u2018til you make it.\u201d<\/p>\n

To help you along the way, instead of thinking \u201cfake it \u2018til you make it,\u201d try thinking, \u201cfake it \u2018til you become it.\u201d It won\u2019t happen over night, but once you start duping everyone around you into thinking that you\u2019re the confident person you always wanted to be, you\u2019ll be surprised how quickly you\u2019ll be able to dupe yourself. So laugh, smile, and be yourself. Overcome that fear and fake it \u2018til you become it. I know you can do it.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
