When we grow and change as people we oftentimes outgrow friends and family members. It happens more often than you think. You come to realize that those around you aren\u2019t the positive influences you once thought they were. When this happens, we have to say goodbye. We have to choose growth and change for the better. Do you really want to be tied down by those negative influences or are you ready to take the journey to somewhere new? The decision is the hardest part. Here are some steps to help you let go of negative people. Let me know what you think in the comments section.<\/p>\n

Evaluate Your Relationships-\u00a0Are the people who surround you supportive of your thoughts and ideas? Ask yourself this question: Is this a place where I can grow? If not, then it\u2019s time to move on. You need to step back and really think about the people with whom you surround yourself. Remember that you are the sum total of the five people you spend the most time with. You may also want to consider what\u2019s going on in the life of the person you\u2019re thinking of letting go.<\/p>\n

Listen To Your Inner Voice-\u00a0Listen to your feelings. They\u2019re often an indicator of change. If you feel as though you want to drown yourself when you\u2019re around a certain person, well maybe you should lessen the time you spend around that person. You want your friends to lift you rather than keep you down.<\/p>\n

Be Civil-\u00a0Once you\u2019ve made the decision to let go of the person, try to spend less and less time with them rather than bad-mouth them to other friends. Loosen the chain, but don\u2019t delete them off social media. Letting go of someone doesn\u2019t mean you have to hate him or her. Your vibe attracts your tribe so you probably brought that said person into your life in the first place. Whatever you feel they did doesn\u2019t mean they did it in an intentional or hateful way.<\/p>\n
